Have you ever wanted to try Scuba Diving?

Whether you are looking to learn to dive or simply give diving a go a Try Dive is a great way to take the plunge!

A Try Dive is a one hour session with one of our instructors who will take you into the pool for your first diving experience.

During your dive you will:

  • Learn some basic skills and signals we use as divers
  • Understand the basics of scuba equipment
  • Understand how to use the scuba equipment once in the water
  • Breathe underwater using scuba equipment
  • Go to a maximum 2 metres underwater

A Try Dive is the perfect way to find out if scuba diving is for you and to ask any questions about our club and diving.

The club hires the pool at Westhoughton Leisure Centre on Thursday nights from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. Try Dives normally take place on the third Thursday each month. We ask you to arrive 15 minutes early to go through some simple paperwork before going to the pool. All you need to bring is normal swimwear and a T shirt to wear in the water.

Once poolside you will be introduced to your instructor who will show you the scuba kit and will give you a safety briefing before going into the pool for your try dive.

You are welcome to bring anyone with you, they can watch from the poolside.

At the end of your dive you will receive a Try Dive Certificate.
